Search the Online Catalog for Primary Sources

Search the PVHS Online Catalog

  • Try adding keywords such as CorrespondenceDiariesInterviewsPersonal Narratives, and Sources along with your research topic to identify primary sources.
  • If using a phrase such as "great depression" or "american dream", consider changing the limiter on the right to This Exact Phrase to receive more relevant, specific search results.

Search the PVHS Databases

  • Choose a tab above and view any relevant tutorials before searching the database.
  • Try a basic search and then limit results by source type(s)
  • If using a phrase such as "great depression" or "american dream", try an advanced search and use the This Exact Phrase limiter to receive more relevant search results
  • Review the tutorial below for helpful hints with both basic and advanced searching
Remember: If you are at home, you will need the passwords for each database. All passwords can be found on the Gold Sheet, in your grade's Library Google Classroom, and on the blue Library in your Pocket card.
